Our Treatment Approach

Life Psychologists specialise in providing evidence-based treatments including:

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Couples Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Positive Psychotherapy
Emotion Focussed Therapy (EFT)
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
Schema Therapy (ST)
Solution-focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT)

All of these approaches are widely accepted around the world to treat a wide range of problems. They have been extensively researched and shown to be effective in clinical trials.

We utilise a practical, problem-solving approach, and focus on teaching people the life skills to help them find solutions to their problems. We focus mainly on the present, rather than on childhood experiences, unless required. Of course, it can be useful to look at how and when unhelpful patterns developed, but our focus is much more on what you want your life to be about now, and what is preventing you from achieving it.
